Springs Park Autumn Olive Removal Project

Many thanks to those that have volunteered to help reclaim Springs Park from the highly invasive Autumn Olive species.  We began pulling these plants out by the roots, (over 200 trees so far), via winch and 4 wheel drive truck.

Happy Earth Day 2010

Thank you to Group for the East End for rallying the troops once again for a successful Earth Day restoration project!

Group for the East End organized volunteers to restore a portion of Louse Point’s beach after the land was disturbed from equipment used to dredge Accabonac Harbor.  With the help of the Town’s Natural Resources and Land Acquisition & Management Departments, adults and children alike joined together to plant beach grass and other beach plants to fill in the bare sandy area.
